CORE LANGUAGE

Language fundamentals

RAIQL uses compact, semicolon-terminated declarations. The language is intentionally explicit: one statement should express one clear piece of application intent.

Statements

Top-level statements end with a semicolon. Whitespace and line breaks are not semantically significant outside quoted strings.

CREATE APPLICATION "Payments API";
TYPE API;
BUILD;

Comments

Use SQL-style double hyphens or a hash at the beginning of a line.

-- Public API for merchant payments
CREATE APPLICATION "Payments";
# build target
DEPLOY DOCKER;

Identifiers

Entity and role identifiers are case-insensitive when parsed and normalized to stable names in the IR. Application names use quoted strings.

Application type

CREATE APPLICATION "Driver Console" TYPE WEB;

The inline form and the separate TYPE WEB; form are equivalent.

Stack entries

USE STACK FRONTEND NEXTJS, BACKEND NESTJS, DATABASE POSTGRESQL;

Stack values are normalized to uppercase tokens in the compiler IR.
